At the age of 13 Rupert had a Konica Pop. This inspired him further as this was his first 35ml camera. A GCSE in photography led to a B-Tec in Art and Design and his first job, running a T Shirt printing firm serving locals from clubs and schools to international companies.

At the London College of Printing Rupert studied Screen Printed Surface Decoration covering all aspects of printing including the processes related to all aspects of photography.

After college, Rupert's career took him to Hong Kong in 1995, where he set up a freelance design business, gaining valuable experience with companies such as Disney, where he designed fabric patterns, Arco Chemical and Jollibee, a major Asian fast food chain, all based in Hong Kong. After 1997, Australia seemed to be the place for opportunities and also a chance to continue with his studies in a new environment.

Rupert spent the next 8 years in Australia travelling, working and studying; obtaining an MA in Graphic design. in his final year on the course he worked for Keycorp Limited, a banking hardware company, where he designed their Exhibition stand, along numerous projects, but the big re-ignition of his passion for photography came when he was approached to film the launch of the Discovery Channel's new board game. The shoot included the need to close part of the Sydney Harbour Bridge for a horse drawn carriage and proved an phenomenal and ultimately rewarding experience.

Upon returning to the U.K in 2004, Rupert gained employment with Apple and began to focus back on photography, aided by short courses with photographic professionals. Since then, he has covered various events for Apple, and a chance meeting with director Alex Suffit brought him the opportunity to photograph the video "Out of Control" by Anita Maj.

This encounter led onto assignments with Caffy St Luce of Rocklands and Heather Minx Ferguson of Minx Media TV, which looks after many exceptionally talented up-and-coming musicians. This led him to be asked to cover "This Feeling" where his photo of Shaun Ryder [formerly of the Happy Mondays] and Brother was published in the Sun newspaper. Rupert has photographed acts such as Mark Morris of The Bluetones, Jon Fratelli, of The Fratellis, Molly McQueen and The View, who have performed at ThisFeeling. His photos can be viewed at ThisFeeling.co.uk.

For the past couple of years Rupert has also covered the events such as Brockley Max, Camden Crawl and Lewisham People's Day and the prestigious CMJ Event at The Hit Factory in Gibson head quarters in New York City.

Rupert has also been asked by CNN to do iReports and has been accepted and is photographing for Getty images as a contributor.

As well as taking great reportage photos, he's very enthusiastic, kind, and a pleasure to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Thanks again for everything, Rupert!" August 22, 2010

"I last saw Rupert when he worked as a Creative at the Apple store. I haven't been there for ages sadly - no time these days. But I have to say that he was a brilliant trainer - very patient indeed. He's a great photographer and a really nice guy to boot. He gave me just the help I needed, when I needed it - especially advising me on my presentation for an important job interview. And I got that job. Thanks Rupert!" August 17, 2010
